Youthful folly has success. It is not I who seeks the young fool; the young fool seeks me. Perseverance furthers.

A spring wells up at the foot of the mountain. The superior person nourishes character through decisive action.

To develop the fool, it furthers to apply discipline. Remove shackles, but going too far brings humiliation.

To bear with fools in kindliness brings good fortune. To know how to accept brings good fortune.

Do not take a maiden who loses herself at the sight of a man of wealth. No direction furthers.

Entangled folly brings humiliation. Isolation without proper guidance leads nowhere.

Childlike folly brings good fortune. Innocent trust and willingness to learn.

In punishing folly, it does not further to commit transgressions. Only to prevent them.
